Principles

Constituting Principals of a Nazarene Soldier

1.) The soldier's duty is to serve others: Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful (1 Corinthians 4:1-2). We are, therefore, Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

2.) Obedience to duty with selfless obligation: Duty to one's family, duty to one's church, duty to one's country and one's duty to tell the truth as dictates in the inner most heart of hearts. This is love, that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love (2 John 6).

3.) Excellence of moral character: Honorable virtuous conduct. Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ (Philippian 1:27). Standard bearer in all things; be self controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith [duty], because you know your fellow soldiers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of suffering (1 Peter 5:8-9).

4.) Loftiness of mind and spirit: His grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weakness, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians12:9-10).

5.) In pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and understanding: Fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7). The Lord gives wisdom and from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. (Proverbs 2:6) Train yourself to be godly. (1 Timothy 4:7) A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher. Luke 6:40) Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

6.) Posturing humility and compassion through equality: Be like minded, having the same love, being one in the spirit and in purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interest but the interest of others (2 Philippians 2:2-4).

7.) Submission to authorities: Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves (Romans 13:1-3).

8.) Putting on the full Armor of God Daily: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the Devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:10-12). With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18).

9.) Soldier's commitment to the local church: Your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by His decrees and obey His commands, as at this time (1 Kings 8:61). To the faithful, you show yourself faithful. To the blameless, you show yourself blameless (2 Samuel 22:26). Soldier's first commitment is to their faith, family, and country. Pastors are our church legislators, together with the board members, elders and deacons. They are the policy makers and represent a congress.

10.) Nazarenes influence others into accomplishing the task: Command and teach these things. Do not let anyone look down at you because you are young, but set the example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4:11-12). Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you (Hebrews13:17).

Orderliness and discipline in the corp. is essential and imperative.

11.) Nazarenes are Christian Veterans and Citizen Servant soldiers: We are sons and daughters of liberty. Our soldiery exemplifies the ethical conduct and practices in accordance with the rules and standards of elders and deacons (1 Timothy 3: 1-13). We are a noble generation of men and women. We stay the course for the cause of Christ; so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. I pray that you will be rooted and established in love (Ephesians 3:17).

12.) Nazarenes set the pace: It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be pastors, and some to be teachers. This was to prepare God's people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach a place of unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-13). These principals constitute the spiritual Nazarene combat uniform of faith. Our commonality of hope is in the promise of Christ, which took hold of us upon our oath to Him by faith through grace. We are always ladies and gentlemen. We express honor to those to whom honor is due without fail. Our salute of respect is in our courtesy to all others. We will subordinate our personal ambitions for our fellow soldiers, families and friends.

UNITED STATES "Bill of Rights"
(Ten Amendments)

First Amendment: addresses the rights of freedom of religion (prohibiting Congressional establishment of a religion over another religion through Law and protecting the right to free exercise of religion), freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of petition.

Second Amendment: declares "a well regulated militia" as "necessary to the security of a free State", and as explanation for prohibiting infringement of "the right of the people to keep and bear arms."

Third Amendment: prohibits the government from using private homes as quarters for soldiers without the consent of the owners. The only existing case law regarding this amendment is a lower court decision in the case of Engblom v. Carey. [1]

Fourth Amendment: guards against searches, arrests, and seizures of property without a specific warrant or a "probable cause" to believe a crime has been committed. Some rights to privacy have been inferred from this amendment and others by the Supreme Court.

Fifth Amendment: forbids trial for a major crime except after indictment by a grand jury; prohibits double jeopardy (repeated trials), except in certain very limited circumstances; forbids punishment without due process of law; and provides that an accused person may not be compelled to testify against himself (this is also known as "Taking the Fifth" or "Pleading the Fifth"). This is regarded as the "rights of the accused" amendment. It also prohibits government from taking private property without "just compensation," the basis of eminent domain in the United States.

Sixth Amendment: guarantees a speedy public trial for criminal offenses. It requires trial by a jury, guarantees the right to legal counsel for the accused, and guarantees that the accused may require witnesses to attend the trial and testify in the presence of the accused. It also guarantees the accused a right to know the charges against him. The Sixth Amendment has several court cases associated with it, including Powell v. Alabama, United States v. Wong Kim Ark, Gideon v. Wainwright, and Crawford v. Washington. In 1966, the Supreme Court ruled that the fifth amendment prohibition on forced self incrimination and the sixth amendment clause on right to counsel were to be made known to all persons placed under arrest, and these clauses have become known as the Miranda rights.

Seventh Amendment: assures trial by jury in civil cases.

Eighth Amendment: forbids excessive bail or fines, and cruel and unusual punishment.

Ninth Amendment: declares that the listing of individual rights in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is not meant to be comprehensive; and that the other rights not specifically mentioned are retained elsewhere by the people.

Tenth Amendment: provides that powers that the Constitution does not delegate to the United States and does not prohibit the states from exercising, are "reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

(Ten Commandments)

Deuteronomy 5:6-21

6 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

7 You shall have no other gods before me.

8 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and fourth generation of those who reject me,

10 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

11 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.

12 Observe the sabbath day and keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you.

13 For six days you shall labor and do all your work.

14 But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work-you, or your son or your daughter, or your male or female slave, or your ox or your donkey, or any of your livestock, or the resident alien in your towns, so that your male and female slave may rest as well as you.

15 Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the sabbath day.

16 Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, so that your days may be long and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

17 You shall not murder.

18 Neither shall you commit adultery.

19 Neither shall you steal.

20 Neither shall you bear false witness against your neighbor.

21 Neither shall you covet your neighbor's wife. Neither shall you desire your neighbor's house, or field, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Exodus 20:2-17

2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

3 Do not have any other gods before Me.

4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.

8 Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

9 For six days you shall labor and do all your work.

10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work-you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns.

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it.

12 Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
